privacy notice
This notice covers the waitlist at wait.betterboxer.app only. The BetterBoxer app will have its own privacy policy.
who we are
The waitlist is run by Caner Tüysüz, Istanbul, Türkiye, who decides how your data is used (the data controller). Contact: privacy@betterboxer.app.
what we collect
When you join the waitlist, we store:
- your email address;
- the source tag of the link you came from (for example ig for Instagram), or direct;
- your browser's language code (for example en);
- the time you signed up, and the version of this notice that applied.
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. To stop abuse, our server checks your IP address against a short in-memory counter (at most 5 signups per 10 minutes); we don't store it. Google's servers that run the site keep standard technical request logs, which can include your IP address, for up to 30 days.
why, and on what basis
We use your email for two things: to invite you to the beta and to send you one email when the app launches. We do this with your consent, which you give by submitting the form (GDPR and UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); KVKK Art. 5(1)). The short IP check above protects the service (legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)).
The waitlist is for people aged 18 or over.
where it's stored
Your signup is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions), provided by Google Ireland Limited as our processor, on servers in the EU (Belgium, europe-west1). No one else receives your email, and we never sell or share it.
We haven't chosen an email sending service yet. Before we send the first email, we'll add that service to this notice as a new version.
how long we keep it
Until 6 months after BetterBoxer launches worldwide, then we delete the list. If you ask us to delete your email earlier, we do it straight away.
your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK (Art. 11), you can:
- ask what we hold about you and get a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- withdraw your consent at any time, which doesn't affect what we did before;
- object to or restrict how we use it.
Write to privacy@betterboxer.app from the address you signed up with. We reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority: in the EU the authority of your country, in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office, in Türkiye the Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK Kurulu).
changes
If this notice changes, we publish the new version here with a new version number. Your signup records which version you agreed to.
